Operational Reporting

This comprehensive all-day course equips winery and compliance professionals with knowledge and skills to manage operational reporting, focusing on Alcohol Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), California Alcoholic Beverage Control (CA ABC), California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA), and more. Participants learn to accurately prepare and submit reports, maintain compliant records, and streamline processes. Practical examples and hands-on exercises ensure attendees can confidently navigate California winery alcohol-related reporting requirements, reduce compliance risk, and avoid penalties.

Learning Outcomes:

Understand, from a macro level, the history of alcohol beverage laws and their impact on wineries and wine production in California.
Make sense of TTB regulations and their application to winery operations.
Practice preparing TTB operational reports, including Form 5120.17 (Report of Wine Premises Operations).
Identify common reporting errors and ways to prevent them.
Learn about the role of the CDTFA Sellers Permit and related Alcohol Tax account for California wineries, including reporting obligations.
 Review the CA ABC Winegrowers/Blenders report.
